Subjects covered include: his knighting as KCMG at Sandringham; his journey to China on a ship; British and Chinese relations with Manchukuo [Manchuria, China] [seized by Japan in 1931 following the Mukden Incident] and with Japan generally; the Burma [later Myanmar]-Yunnan frontier and relations with Chiang-Kai Shek, as well as social and family events.
